See my post #37 for a possible/likely reason for this.

The reboot will take place at 8am tomorrow (Wednesday 15th). I'm not sure exactly how long it will take, but hopefully it shouldn't be more than an hour.

It still takes a long time to post today, but no idiotic messages so far, so that's an improvement even before the reboot!

If the reboot has been completed it has made no difference. Two previous posts took 20-30 seconds with the message "waiting for webuser.co.uk".

The reboot has completed, and the hosting service has asked me to let them know if it's made any difference.

If not, we'll have to try something else, although I'm not sure what. Oddly none of the mods have been experiencing the 'hanging' problem.

Embedding large images certainly doesn't help.

It took 41 seconds to Preview this post and 31 seconds to Submit it on this fast machine.

No such problems on any other forums.

Alas, the reboot has not worked.

Unless my memory fails me, it was a sudden change and not gradual and so I presume the 'techies' have/are investigating what might have caused a sudden change in 'submit/preview' time'.

And no 'System Restore Point' to fall back on !

There doesn't appear to be any delay in previewing/submitting a PM.
