All may still not be lost......Recuva only identifies deleted files...."No preview available" simply means it has been overwritten or otherwise corrupted. Might be a good idea to get Recuva to delete all these for a clean up.

You might like to try the Windows command prompt, CMD.EXE

c:\users\your user name>dir /a (space between dir and /)

This will list ALL directories/folders/files if they still exist. Even the hidden ones. If it ain't there, it's gone.

Followed your advice and after another full scan of the results, have just confirmed the folder is long gone never to return. I must just say that, having used EaseUS, Recuva and FreeCommander, I find FreeCommander by far the quickest and best presented program and will recommend it to everyone.

Maybe a silly idea, but there are people out there who can almost always reco ver lost files. When Staples was Staples there was a customer they knew who undertook this work, and it worked for me in a similar situation, or course all situations are different, but maybe ask local techies?

It's time for another reminder about the importance of backup.

After unsuccessful attempts to revive my drive lost after a power interruption I decided to try software. Disk Drill was amazingly thorough and simple to use. It even retained file names and the original file structure. Other software may recover data but many also rename everything making it very difficult to identify what the files and file types are. The damaged drive I was dealing with would not even mount. Yet Disk Drill scanned the 500GB drive at 90% capacity in minutes. I could see everything intact. I browsed through the files and checked off those that I needed then it only took the same amount of time as it would to copy the files to a preselected folder. Your drive connection speed will be a factor. I could not be more pleased with this product.

Disk Drill runs on Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10 and recovers up to 100MB for free.
100 MB isn't much. Be prepared to pay.
