Well guys At long last I seem to have got rid of the bug. I've had no freezing for the last three days. I'm not sure why it went but Stewart40 sent me

1. Near bottom of page VSSfix>

http://kb.macrium.com/knowledgebasearticle50010.aspx

2. In this Tweaking utility amongst many others a VSS repair tweak (whether same as in 1. above ?)

http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/deta...y_service.html

3.
http://backupchain.com/en/vss-troubleshooting-guide/
and after fiddling about with no 3 the problem has gone! Many thanks to all Alex

Glad to hear it's now fixed and that you have posted what Stewart had suggested, but Stewart was contravening Rule #9 by not posting advice in the open forum.

It's very unfair to those forum members who've been taking time endeavouring to help you in this thread when you've been accepting advice by PM, which, as Tom has stated above, is against forum rules.

I have to post and say this is totally unfair to Alex.

As far as my 'guilt' is concerned >
Post on Forum and you are 'deleted', browse on the Forum and you 'lurk', and now assist in a PM and you transgress a 'rule' !

WTH, the 'Gulag' next ? At least I know where I'm not welcome - but, n'importe.

Stewart, it may be unfair to Alex but he was still letting others trying to help on the forum when he was getting advice from you via PM for many days, which had been noticed by Admin.

As for "post on forum and you are 'deleted'..", you have contributed over 7,000 replies, the majority of which are still on the forum for all to see. Any deleted posts of yours were removed at the request of Admin. As are posts by other members, not just you.

I am not going to enter into any further discussion with you. If you have any problems, I suggest you please contact Robert.

I am closing this thread.
