Default Shutting Down Windows 8

I still run Windows 7 but several friends run Windows 8. They complained that Windows 8 never really shut down when "shutdown" was clicked ; instead it went into a sleep-hibernate mode. As a result if BIOS was needed (F2), it could not be accessed.

I managed to find the following tip on line.

Open Windows 8 CONTROL PANEL > HARDWARE & SOUND POWER OPTIONS/SYSTEM SETTINGS.

SCROLL DOWN to bottom of the box and DE-SELECT " TURN ON FAST START-UP.
