No, why would I want to do that? However, I was able to download Chameleon from the link on the Malwarebytes Chameleon page linked to above. It shows in my Downloads Folder as mbam-chameleon-3.1.33.0.zip 19/09/2018 Compressed (zipp... 6,549 KB which I haven't extracted yet as I don't need to run it.

That's exactly what I got but when you extract it you will see what you get and it doesn't install Chameleon as I said in my post.

Run it to its conclusion.

No it doesn't, but this file is shown in the folder following extraction ~ mbam-chameleon.exe 20/09/2018 Application 947 KB ~ which is an executable file that I don't intend to run unless or until I need it.

It did exactly the same - run that .exe and you will see it does not install Chameleon.

Perhaps you should take it up with Malwarebytes - it's their program. It doesn't seem unreasonable to expect that when they supply a link to download a program, then that's what it will do. If it doesn't do so, it's hardly the fault of anyone who downloads it although it;s annoying. Perhaps the FAQs would shed some light on it.

This was because getting the Chameleon download from Malwarebytes - or anywhere else for that matter - gives you a .zip file which doesn't actually install Chameleon when you extract the files. You get a Command Prompt window which downloads an out of date version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware - v2.2.1.1043 to be precise, but I didn't go any further than that as I'm not having any trouble with Malwarebytes 3.6.1 and I don't need to run Chameleon.

Incidentally, Chameleon wasn't integrated into Malwarebytes 3.xx. See this post from December 2016:

Malwarebytes 3.0 and Chameleon
