Default Is Kodi OK for this Sharp Smart TV?

My Brothers Sharp LC40CF Smart TV Has its Limits as I discovered today Despite it can surf a tiny bit and Its TV App is an in House AQUOS channel Gets to YouTube and that's about it, yet the US spec version Has ROKU Installed. The UK got only NetFlix on a subscription with a Big button on the remote for the same and some poor games channels/Skype and an unusable Flickr App
I fidgeted about with the Settings and discovered there was no Media Server installed ,Which I have several Candidates including Kodi only a click away but I cannot find the Manual for this TV to help with the install. The TV has 2 USB2.0 sockets and there is no problem grabbing a copy from the Internet Transferring it to the USB stick but then we have the wee problem of dropping it into the TV's App Folder ..."Manual Again!"
Probably find the answers in this place www.manualslib.com on this Page Needs a PDF reader and there is a choice of 2 items

We have a similar sharp smart TV. We use a Chromecast and Terrarium TV for most of our needs. Install app on phone and cast, very easy

Bedstore, Just having a look round regarding your problem, I found this American site.

https://www.consumeraffairs.com/home.../sharp_tv.html
and this post on this site
https://www.consumeraffairs.com/home...ul&filter=none
There is an accreditation panel

How do I know I can trust these reviews about Sharp TVs?
1,241,152 reviews on ConsumerAffairs are verified.
We require contact information to ensure our reviewers are real.
We use intelligent software that helps us maintain the integrity of reviews.
Our moderators read all reviews to verify quality and helpfulness.

I think, reading the reviews, that you may have difficulties regarding your quest and the chance of help from Sharp is not looking good. Seems the good old Sharp tele's are a not so good now. Also if American tech is in advance of the UK this doesn't read well especially at some of the prices paid for the current USA models.
