Default Malwarebytes for Firefox extension

I've just seen a couple of articles about this. From Ghacks:

Malwarebytes for Firefox extension - gHacks Tech News

From Techdows:

Malwarebytes Extension for Firefox | Techdows

There's an update in the first article which is as follows
Quote:
Update: The author of the extension removed it from Mozilla AMO.
This doesn't actually seem to be the case as it's still shown on Mozilla's Firefox Add-ons site here:

Malwarebytes Ė Add-ons for Firefox

There's nothing about it on the Malwarebytes site. I haven't tried it myself, but it's had 4 x 5-star reviews so far.

Currently the extension is "Experimental" as stated in the last linked page (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir.../malwarebytes/) above.

Those who use MB Premium should automatically have protection anyway by the latest definition updates.

Trying it. As I would NEVER pay for antivirus or antimalware programs, they just are not good enough, I cannot see why only people who pay would have the latest updates for malwarebytes. I update my freebie Malwarebytes on a regular basis, once a week, and I run it once a month. It hasn't picked anything nasty, apart from a couple of PUPs, in months. Whether that is because it doesn't work or whether it is because I really haven't got any nasties on my computer is anybodies guess.

I know that itís ĎExperimentalí as it says so on the Mozilla Firefox Add-ons site Roger, but I posted it in case anyone wanted to give it a try anyway. I donít use Firefox and itís not compatible with Pale Moon anyway.

The free version of Malwarebytes is basically a scanner only which will remove anything it finds thatís already on your PC, it wonít block anything.

This is all I could find about the Malwarebytes Firefox Extension on the Malwarebytes Forums site:

There's more about this now in the Malwarebytes for Firefox part of the Beta Testing Program section on the Malwarebytes site:

Malwarebytes for Firefox (Beta) - Malwarebytes for Firefox - Malwarebytes Forums

This extension is available from the Firefox Add-ons site here:

Malwarebytes Browser Extension BETA Ė Add-ons for Firefox
