Oh dear, I am going to bother you again as I hope you know answers to these straightaway.
I'm falling out of love with Vivaldi 'cos of these practical reasons.

Firstly, no obvious way to send a page by email (with a link).
I've found an extension but is there another way built in?

Secondly, it's quite convoluted to add a bookmark.
Seems you have to click through all your bookmark folders to the one you want to put it in which takes a while as I have over 1,000 bookmarks in lots of organised folders.
And then if you want a different name for the bookmark to the one saved automatically, you have to go into bookmark management and click through everything yet again to find it.
This is putting me off, Firefox is much, much easier.
Is there a better way?

P.S. Someone on the Vivaldi forum sent me a solution to the scrolling using chrome://flags but it didn't work !

Hi John,

As far as I know, there isn't a built-in way to send a page with a link by email in Vivaldi. You don't say which extension you've found, but any of the following ones will add the feature to the context menu in Vivaldi:

Share link via email - Chrome Web Store

Mail this link - Chrome Web Store

Send Link by Email or Gmail - Chrome Web Store

I haven't found adding bookmarks to be 'convoluted'. Like you, I have a lot of bookmarks in various folders according to category and to add one, I just click on the icon in the Location Bar, then on the little down-arrow by Bookmarks, select (highlight) the appropriate folder, click 'Save' and it's done. There's a lot of info in the Vivaldi Help section on Bookmarks here:

Bookmarks | Vivaldi Browser Help

If you know the saved name of a bookmark and want to rename it, you can just highlight it and then click on the title which will then show a cursor and you can amend the name. If you want a specific Bookmarks folder in your Bookmarks Bar, go to Tools>Settings>Bookmarks>Select Bookmarks Bar Folder, choose the folder and make sure that 'Show Bookmarks Bar' is ticked. This sounds more complex than it really is ~ it's more difficult to write about than to do! The thing is, it takes time to get used to anything new ~ including browsers!

I'm not surprise, I had a look at it and nothing like looked as if it might resolve the trouble!

I hope some of this helps. If I think of anything else, I'll edit or post back.

Oh dear more senility, it's getting worse.

Just never realised that was what the little bookmark logo was for in the address bar.

Yes it's dead simple, exactly the same as Firefox.

You've made me happier than the 6-1 win today.

The extension I've got is "Share link via email".

Thanks yet again Madeline.

Join the club John! I'm glad you've got it sorted now.

Although I'm pleased about England winning 6-1 today, the best sporting occasion this weekend for me was the 5-0 ODI whitewash by England over OZ ~ superb!!

I'm thinking about getting the 'Share link via email' extension in both Vivaldi and Opera since neither has a built-in feature for emailing pages, links and so on. I've always done that sort of thing in Pale Moon, but now I'm using it less and the other 2 browsers more, I'll need to be able to email stuff from either of them sometimes. Your question made me think of it, so really we've helped each other!

Vivaldi updated to 1.15.1147.52 yesterday.

I changed settings to opt for smooth scrolling.

The fast scroll has stopped on some websites including this one.

But not all !!

Hopefully, one day.... Maybe they'll get it resolved eventually, it's probably worth checking their forum sometimes.
