This is something that has been bugging me for ages and I know I'ii get the answer here.
example as title, this is an article which I want to download as it is printed! instead I get a load of pictures and gobblygook which I don't understand. I use 'save as', is this whats wrong? Alex

Can you give us a link to it ?

Some web sites will allow you to copy the text which you can then paste into a Notepad or Wordpad doc.

Some sites have the option to print things, but that may be impractical if it's a very long article. Another option offered sometimes is to email the article, perhaps you could check if that's available for the article you want to have.

If you use Chrome there is a plugin called Print Friendly & PDF that lets you choose what to save and/or print.

Thanks guys, you have sorted it for me. The Print Friendly tip will be most useful! Thanks again Alex
