Default Windows 8 lock screen - ask the experts!

Hello I followed Ask the Experts advice - p66 4 April 2013 issue "Remove the lock screen" but it doesn't appear to have worked - the first screen no longer loads but I still get what I would call the lock scree, ie, when you have to put you password in. Am I doing something wrong or have other readers found this is the case? Jeff

Try this:

Press Windows Key + R to open the Run box, type control userpasswords2 and click OK. In the Users tab of the properties sheet that opens, untick the box "Users must enter a username and password to use this computer". When you click Apply, you should be prompted to enter the default Username & Password that Windows will in future log in with automatically.
