Default Pop-Up Hitch

A neighbour asked me if I could help with a problem he has this morning. He was trying to print an email. When he clicks 'print' a message appeared which said something like "an adblocker is preventing you". He uses firefox which I am not familiar with, can anybody help ?

Firefox has a pop up blocker which can be turned off in Options>Privacy & Security>Permissions. Your neighbor may also have an add blocker extension installed, which would be accessible via the Search Bar. I cant see how either could affect printing an e-mail though. Some general information about whats being printed and a the complete error report would be helpful.

I have just been down to his flat to have a look. The message which pops up when he clicks print is as follows "Grrr! A pop-upblocker may be preventing the Ad from opening this page. If you have a pop-up blocker, try disabling it to open the window". Quite what this means in printing an email is baffling. I did go into his adblocker and disabled, but this has made no difference, that message still appears !

I have managed to sort it for him. Went into options - privacy & security - permissions - unchecked pop -up windows, and the problem cleared. He can now print his mails. One happy man.

Not quite the same thing, but I get a message from certain websites telling me I have to disable my ad-blocker before I'll be allowed to continue.

The trouble is that I don't have an ad-blocker installed.

Your browser or firewall or antivirus might have a built in one.
