Default Re: Postings on WU forum hanging

While I'm not into the machinations that go to create a forum, on occasions when traversing from one section to another, I've had the unable to connect error.

Not sure if that was a DNS problem but having had problems with my ISP and Google's DNS servers, I now use Level Three's 209.244.0.3 and 209.244.0.4

I don't know if anyone would like to try changing their DNS servers but I have problems with IE on this forum in that it doesn't display some pics but will in FF.

This in Win 10.

No Mod favours there

This is bound to happen as the number of posts to the forum have increased. Probably the best they can do is ask whoever set up the forum or is hosting it to look at it for them.

I have noticed that editing my post is very quick but new posts take time, indicating mysql database overload.
You're probably correct SB.

However, I'm disappointed that our Mods have chosen not to seriously respond to these reported faults ... or have they ???
I haven't seen any feedback from them that the matter has been reported, and is now being actively investigated by the relevant fixers.

I consider it very remiss for nobody from Admin, or John M, to not respond to this thread.
They must be aware of the problem as it is patently a problem at their end since it is not a browser one, as indicated by the comments here.
Agreed Rogerman.

I'm a member as much as everyone else who just happens to have a Mod badge. I don't work for WU nor Dennis - I have a busy full time job and moderate the forum voluntarily. How the forum works has nothing to do with me nor any other Mod so please don't make comments about being disappointed that "Mods have chosen not to....." This is a matter for those behind the scenes so please don't make assumptions and snide digs at me or the other Mods. Btw, I've had no problem with the forum on Chrome or my iPad.

Good reminder but as a Mod could you use your influence to get the ' behind the scenes' people to rectify the problem or, to give us a sitrep. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have no influence as I'm not part of the Admin team. It's for Robert and his team to look into this and they might be doing so but they don't have to keep the mods updated because we don't work for WU/Dennis.

Please, can someone from WebUser address the issues covered in this thread?

Thanks if you can.

They would have to be able to replicate it before they could fix it, I would assume, but as it doesn't affect everyone, that may not be possible.

Have you tried the refresh loop or F5 to see if that speeds things up ?

With me the 'happening' is the same using different browsers with different PCs with different OS.

It seems to cause enough problems that action is needed quickly.

Apologies for the delayed reply, but I've been away for the last few days.

I know there have been some server issues within the company over the last few days - especially yesterday when the work network suffered a major outage - which may be the cause of the 'hanging' problem, but I believe these have issues now been resolved.

Please let me know if you continue to experience connection problems.
