Default desktop shortcuts missing

After downing loading some photos from my Andriod tablet to my Windows 10 PC, I have notice all my desktop shortcuts have vanished. My desktop wallpaper is not so bright as it was. Also the two signs in the top right corner for srinking and enlargeing have also gone. What is wrong please and how can I return back the clock. ?
Chas.

Default Re: desktop shortcuts missing

Right click desktop - View > Show Desktop Icons should be ticked.

Also right click desktop > Screen resolution & check whether it's correct for your monitor.

For screen brightness check in Control Panel > Power Options
