Question POP3 emails in Gmail

On my smartphone (Motorola G3) I recover my emails when I am away from home through Gmail where I have added my POP3 email addresses. On my desktop in Office Outlook I have folders where I store emails I want to keep. I would like something similar on my phone but I cannot find a way of adding folders and they are therefore cluttering up my inbox.

Does anyone have any idea if this is possible?

Talking Re: POP3 emails in Gmail

Use Thunderbird on the PC and you can store or save e-mails to local files.

It automatically configures to gmail, but I think it is IMAP, not-one uses POP3 anymore due to security or lack of it.
