Smile Google crashes W8.1

Have many users of W8.1 experienced Chrome crash when Windows updates occur ? After the last 2 updates on my HP laptop, Google Chrome would not open from Desktop / task bar,Skype was also affected. I spent several hours doing things like uninstalling and re-installing. Eventually i got it back by giving permission for GEO TRUST GLOBAL ct, to install, then my original Usage was back to normal. If the crashes become the norm, would i be better advised to Drop Chrome altogether, or perhaps do not update Windows,or perhaps choose Opera as a Browser. ? Any thoughts from members would be appreciated.

Have a look in Event Viewer and reliability history to see if there's more info.

RE Cantrel, I went to the Reliability monitor as you suggested, although it gave details of the time and date of events,as well as the resulting action,it did not register why the events took place or how i could avoid or rectify future events. Cheers.

Can you post the time stamped corresponding errors in Event Viewer.

Click on each and then on Copy/Copy details as text in the lower right pane - right click in the reply box and select Paste.

No guarantees but we may be able to pick out something from them.
