. . . . . At just two days into the rollout when we paused, the number of customers taking the October 2018 Update was limited. While the reports of actual data loss are few (one one-hundredth of one percent of version 1809 installs), any data loss is serious.

The only reference to 60,000 or 600 million I can find is in post No 4 of this thread.

Sorry I meant an updated version of Movie maker, I have been using the most recent version (2012) since the first version of W10, it works fine in W10 but MS don't support it so it's getting dated however it is/was a really good free video editor I use it for my youtube videos.

The 600 million came from Microsoft last November, reported by Forbes and no doubt other sources,

The 60,000 is just a calculation from the quoted percentage in an earlier post in this thread.

But 600 million Windows 10 installations did not install the 1809 upgrade and thus 'all' could never get affected. Only those that manually checked for, downloaded and installed the upgrade could potentially have problems with data loss.

The one one-hundredth of one percent figure is from Microsoft regarding the 1809 installs - not the amount of (estimated) W10 installations.
See post No 11.

Ah I see what you are getting at, so the actual number affected is then probably quite small and nowhere near 60K affected.

Personally, I've no issue with the amount of feature updates M$ want to give me. My only gripe is the sheer amount of time each one takes to install!
