Default Radio Times Ad-blocking detection problem

RadioTimes.com is now detecting ad-blockers, uBlock Origin in my case.

They ask you to disable it or whitelist the site.

I have done both but it still keeps throwing up the same pop-up so it has become completely unusable.

Has anyone had the same problem and/or know what's going on?

I suspect a bug in the site but can't be sure.

Just tried the website and everything seemed fine. I use uBlock Origin as well.

In Firefox 56, if I open the Radio Times TV Listings page with uBlock Origin active, I initially don’t get an issue.
However, reloading the page a few times brings up the Disable Adblocker notice.

When I disable uBlock Origin by clicking its icon and then clicking the ‘Enable/Disable’ symbol, after reloading the page again, the Disable Adblocker notice disappears and the RT TV listings are shown in all its glory including the adverts.

I notice that you still have uBlock Origin active in your .doc image. Click the uBlock Origin icon, disable it, then reload/refresh the page for a comparison.
The icon changes from red to grey when it is disabled.

Note: - I'm not sure why you have opted to use a Word document to show your image. You haven't 'Inspected the Document' and opted to remove personal data from the properties first before allowing others to download it.

I use uBlock Origin too and the site was fine at first but, as mentioned above, reloading the page makes the notice appear. It was fine after disabling UBO. I think it might be the same with some other blockers, I tried it on Opera with their ad blocker enabled and got the same notice although it's easy enough to whitelist the site. On the other hand, I tried the site on IE 11 with Adblock Plus (v1.6 for IE) enabled and didn't see the notice at all despite refreshing the page a few times.

Pale Moon/uBlock Origin - can't get a single damned Disable Adblocker notice at all.
The adverts are blocked.

I had trouble only on Opera, the notice didn't appear on Vivaldi, Pale Moon, Firefox or IE 11.

Thanks for all your interest.

As I said, I have disabled Ublock Origin when on the page and then refreshed AND also whitelisted RadioTimes.com but the pop-up just keeps coming back in Firefox.

IE11 with Adblock plus was OK.

Chrome was OK but don't think I have any adblockers there, not used much.

How do i find extensions in Chrome? I've forgotten!

If you mean extensions that you already have, you’d probably be able to find out using your Menu button and find ‘Extensions’ there - maybe under ’Tools’ - and in the same place you could click on ‘Get more extensions’; I’m not certain of this as I don’t use Chrome these days. Alternatively, you can get extensions from the Chrome Web Store:

Chrome Web Store - Extensions

Go to Apps and you will see what extensions you have installed, From there you can access the Web Store which Madeline mentioned..
