Question Thunderbird - Downloading Old Emails From Server

I recently started using Thunderbird instead of Outlook Express, but then had a problem/mistake causing me to accidentally delete some locally stored emails which I really needed to keep.

On checking, I found that these emails are still in my webmail accounts inboxes (both Sky and Orange) but they do not download when I ask Thunderbird to check for emails.

New emails come down ok from both servers.

Is there a DATE setting somewhwere that will force TB to download the older emails?

Or do I have to completely uninstall Thunderbird and more (As described in an earlier post from 'chris') http://forum.webuser.co.uk/showthrea...ht=thunderbird

I hope not, after having resolved the server communications and setting up the archive and local folder (Filing Cabinet) structures already. But what will be, will be!

Thanks.

Could you perhaps e-mail them to yourself and open them in Thunderbird?

Thanks Difarn, it's just that there are 112 emails on the one server, and 67 on the other! And I cant see a way of collectively forwarding / sending them?

I see your problem.

First of all when you deleted your e-mails did you compact the folders? If no have you looked in the "Trash" folder?

If not you could try running the free "Mail Cure" tool that claims it can recover deleted e-mails from Outlook and Thunderbird.
