Which browser are you using? If it's Internet Explorer, what happens if you right-click on a webpage? I realise it may not be the same, but in IE 11 in Windows 7, in the context menu there's the option to 'Add to favorites...' and you can choose whereabouts to save it to. There are similar options in other browsers too.

If you want the 'Favorites Center' to show on the left hand side of IE, click on the 'star' icon on the top right-hand side, hover the mouse over the green coloured icon and it'll show 'Pin the Favorites Center', click it and the Favourites Task Pane willow moves to the left-hand side of IE. There's an 'Add to favorites' button at the top of the pane with some options in a drop-down menu. Another way to add a page to Favourites is to press Ctrl+D.
