Question Nero Platinum 18, is it good?

I don't know if this is the right forum, if not please mve it too the right one.

I have been using Cyberlink Power Director to edit my home movies, but it keeps crashing forcing me to do everything again. I've now decided I have had enough and to try something new. I have been looking at Nero platinum 2018

I run windows 10 with a 65g processor (i5)

And I would like to know if this would make a better alternative? Sorry to ask.

Many thanks and hope you can help me

An i5 is not powerful enough:

Question Re: Nero Platinum 18, is it good?

Thanks for your reply. Can you please recommend a video editing software which is just as good? Someone mentioned Adobe Elements?

Hello,

Not something we have used for a long time, but an old friend whos passed away used to do a lot of his editing with Pinnacle Studio.

Like any editing program it has pros and cons and he tried various other suites by always reverted back to Studio.

He often asked/mentioned little problems with it, generally easily overcome, but he never said anything about loosing lots of work, other than by his own hand.

Seem with most suites an i3 can do basic work, its only i7 minimum for high end 4k stuff etc.
Makes one wonder how we edited anything with our XP/AMD 2000 systems !

AE does look very sleek from its home page, but seems it has a free trial version so might be worth giving it a spin and see if you can readily take to it; such a personal thing and hard to pin point, but some program always easier to take to than others.

You really need an i7 for Premiere Elements, but may get by with a high end i5 processor and at least 8 GB RAM if you don't use a demanding media or many effects and transitions.
