Default Keyboard problem

When I press the shift and a letter to go to upper case letters the top line qwerty etc of my keyboard nothing happens though it it works fine with all other keys is it something I have done or is the keyboard Kaput. I can get the qwerty line in upper case with the Caps Lock on.

Probably the common line (earth or chassis) that feeds the top line of characters has gone open circuit. If that is the case there isn't much you can do, if anything. But for the price of a new keyboard I wouldn't bother. Get one from Wilkos. They are as cheap as chips and if it doesn't solve your problem you can take it back.
