Default Win 10 tip

I'm not sure if this is of any use to anyone, and I haven't personally tried it yet. But here it is.

I haven't created a recovery drive but have updated my Win 10 USB which I created via the MCT.

The 1803 update didn't seem to sit too well on one of my laptops as well as compounding a problem that came about after the 1709 update, so I factory reset that back to Win 7 and after putting stuff back on, updated directly to 1803 from my Win 10 USB.

I have a Win 7 recovery USB which I bought from Toshiba - which was just as well as the DVD drive decided to give up the ghost at that time.

So do you see any problems with regard to the info given, which is based Stateside as far as I can see. Although the Software should be the same I would imagine, I've never been to sure if the downloads we get are the same for people in the States?

When you boot up with install media you have to change/confirm the Time and currency so it knows where you are and when performing a repair install, it repairs what you have installed.

One thing I have noticed though when it comes to the time and currency window, is the language is fixed at English US without an option to change it to English UK.

However, given the info MS have gleaned from machines, they'll know where you are and what to apply.

Have been having trouble with my recent Windows Recovery Drive (see this thread):-

http://forum.webuser.co.uk/showthread.php?t=153295

and so I decided to give this idea a try.

It works OK and the flash drive boots the computer but it is merely a copy of a MCT flash drive which I already have but producing it requires a lot more actions.

Didn't see the point of it really so I think I will stick to my EaseUs Images with the MCT as a further option.
