Default Desperate - Text to Speech has bricked (almost) my phone

I activated 'Text to Speech' on my Samsung Galaxy J5 and now it won't do a thing. I've googled 'disable text to speech' and it says things like 'go to setting etc' but I can't go to setting as it won't scroll.

I'm desperate. I'd normally just reset the phone to factory settings but I have some texts I really need to keep.

Has anyone any suggestions? Please?

Panic over. It's easy when you know how.

Samsung live chat UK was shut, so naturally I tried Samsung Australia. Got it sussed within a minute.

Two fingers is the secret. Who knew you'd have to use two fingers to scroll?
