Default Does Avast Free still need to be re-registered after one year?

I've used Avast Free for several years and re-registration was always needed after a year. This year seems different and I can't see the option to do it. Can anyone help please?

Check in the AVAST UI > Settings > Subscription - for the Valid till/days remaining

Hi
If you go into settings - on the left hand side of the page when you open Avast it will tell you under subscriptions how long your sub is, my free sub renewed automatically this year so yours might have too. Good luck

Many thanks nutchoc, Stewart and Lizzy. Lizzy's post reveals that re-registration is now automatic, handy that...thanks all.

Strange, I have the latest version 17.5.2302 (Build 17.5.3559.0) of Avast Free which was re-registered on 20th June and it tells me it is valid until 20/6/2018.
No mention of not needing to register in the future.
