Default Stop USB Devices Going To Sleep

Hi I see a section in WU sister magazine stating to stop External USB HDD going to sleep if screen is off go Settings/USB Menu turn "Stop devices when my screen is off" however under USB there is only "Notify me if there are issues connecting to USB devices" any help appreciated.

Windows 10 Pro 64bit Version 1803

Hi Peter
The setting you want is called"Power Plan" if you call up the Device list on the Control panel > PC or go KW "Power Plan" in the search box and Set it to Balanced (Recommended) Do peek at the other 2 options and see what's on offer (will can cause issues if you do not adhere to those rules) Which are Power Saver and High performance

And if it still continues . Come back here and open up the Advance power settings menu and under USB settings check to see if the indicator says USB Selective Suspend setting : Setting : Enabled then click OK to close or Apply as the case may be
