Default Transmute - Is it any good?

Good Morning All

Transmute is a programme designed to import and export favourites/bookmarks between browsers.

Does anyone know about it or have any other info. ?

Regards

Roy

Easiest way is to use Xmarks add-on. It allows storage online and you can download them to your other browser.

I seem to remember some time in the distant past using Transmute but it can't have been very good or I would probably still be using it. Of course it could be a great updated version now so take my comment with a ton of salt.

Most browsers have that function built in.

The difference is that Xmarks is browser independent.

I have used Xmarks. It syncs your bookmarks to your computers and recently it started to give error messages while trying to sync to my computers then finally all my bookmarks just disappeared. I went to the Xmarks site but all bookmarks had been deleted and although some older ones were recovered it would no longer sync at all. As far as I can see the only support offered by Xmarks is in respect of the paid version and not for the free one (which I had).

I am now using 'Bookmark Ninja' which works differently in as much as your bookmarks are saved on their server - there is no need to sync to your computer - and accessed by logging in from any browser either by computer or mobile device. You simply load the 'Ninja' buttons into which ever browser is your choice and off you go. Works a treat. It is a paid programme but worth it.

Worth consideration,
