Default KB4100347

When checking the App Features setting on this machine re, the Win 10 Con thread, I happened to do a manual check for updates and it found the one in the thread title.

A Google on this update produced a number of links but this one seems to be the latest - https://news.softpedia.com/news/micr...3-522694.shtml

I don't know if this one will come naturally or whether it will need a manual check.

This machine is AMD based, so didn't need it when it was first released, but I assume as I've gotten it again, it will also mitigate any adverse effects that have been reported on AMD machines of which I have had none.

From that article:
Quote:
KB4100347, for instance, was the culprit of system boot problems on Windows 10 April 2018 Update, rendering a number of systems useless. At that point, it was believed that Microsoft incorrectly shipped the Intel update to computers with AMD processors, eventually breaking down the boot.

The timing of these new updates is a little surprising given that Microsoft shipped security updates only a few days ago as part of the September 2018 Patch Tuesday.
I have not received this, also have mostly AMD CPU machines .(did not Install until the safe version rolled out)However I have taken out "Insurance" this week against the October 2018 Update bouncing by updating the Windows 10 Upgrade Assistant tool >6 MB (Have transferred it to my USB stick, saves looking for the file download URLs)

Have you tried a manual check for updates ?

Apparently from Google it was also released on 21 Aug.

Windows Auto checked this morning @ Boot time , and there is nothing listed on the Windows Update Log list either. My nearest update to that date was August 30, 2018KB4346783 (OS Build 17134.254) a Cumulative update

Not going to "Force" this

You may yet get it naturally but there hasn't been any adverse effects on my AMD machine, although it may be a bit too old to be affected - the same for this Intel based one.
