Question Swapping Graphics card drivers for correct "Bit" type

I discovered that my Windows 7 64 bit machine is running with the 32 bit Graphics card driver by mistake = AMD Catalyst
I want to Know 2 things
1st) What if any performance change would I Expect when the Proper Driver is in Place?
2nd) Do I have to take any Precautions when installing the correct 64 bit driver such as Installing in "Safe mode",and/or will it overwrite the 32 bit code without me deleting the driver in situ ?

Hi Bed,

Nice for me to be offering you advice for once

Download the 64bit drivers for your card you won't need to go into safe mode when installing them, but I would uninstall the old 32bit drivers before installing the 64bit ones (just to be sure).

Ray

Thumbs up Re: Swapping Graphics card drivers for correct "Bit" type

Cheers Ray
Will do that

You are correct Even the Best of us have to ask for advice sometimes

Most of the askers here do have many good answers for somebody else

They haven't tried doing that and, They should be good at 1 or 2 diverse subjects

I digress to my first ever Proper Forum answer which was to a person asking about some Derelict Coke Kilns on the Blackburn Accrington main road near Church village
I only knew about them as I sagged school and walked by them (read up later as an Adult) and Currently there is still Little on Google even if you dig very deep
