Win 10 and mail program association

In the past I used a setting in Firefox to make gmail the default email Association in Windows.

The trick doesn’t work now.

If I find a photo, right click it and use Send to Mail, Windows whinges that no program is associated with the command.

I have actually got The Mail app in Win 10 Setup to read gmail, not that I can be bothered to use it, but it works.

Any ideas on how I can associate either program to act as default mail program for Win 10?

Cheers.

To set Mail as the default email app in Windows 10, search in the start menu for "default apps" and click "default app settings". Under "choose default applications", look for "email" and click the menu to select "Mail". Then close the settings and restart.

I've already set that, last year.

However it still does not associate the request to use mail with the functionality of the mail progra,

Ie does nothing.
States there is no program associated with that function.

Forgot where this post was, sorry.

YES, that works from within Firefox only.

Win 10 just ignores it for anything else.
